The outflow is reaching low boatable flows already. I hope they decide they need to dump more water because of the coming rain.

I think they normally plan to have an empty pool by end of Oct. This fall seems a lot wetter than usual though so hopefully they will get it on it earlier. They still have about 20K acre feet to get rid of. I might call them if I fell motivated enough to get lied to.

over 3000cfs inflow in Sept. I don't think that has happened before? This could be a good season for the Green. Howard Hansen is still over half full from last spring's refill. That will need to be emptied in the next 3-4 weeks to winter operating levels, elevation 1070' or so. Heavy september rain have recharged the water table, any new substantial rain should bring boatable levels. Good start to the new boating year!

Where are we in the cycle now, Paul? How much are they holding back?

sorry for the slow response David. They plan on holding back an average of 200 cfs for this refill season. They will hold more when flows are higher and less when flows are lower. Without much low elevation snow they are planning to have the fill done by mid-may to the 1167' res elevation level. Past years it was early June. They are at 1157' now at 38000 acre feet stored. 10 more feet to go. I believe 1167' is about 50000 acre feet but not sure.

revised: target refill date is late May now. I should have read my meeting notes before I posted. Refill as of last Tuesday was 70% complete at 36000 acre feet. 14700 AF more to hold.
