SUMMARY:White Salmon Retreat
DESCRIPTION:White Salmon Weekend!! \nEvery July\, WRRR descends on the White Salmon River for a fun weekend of fast whitewater and sunshine! \nWe run the section from BZ Corner to Northwestern Park. \nhttps://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/detail/3064/main \nJoin us on the beautiful White Salmon River. The White Salmon is a narrow river flowing through a collapsed lava tube\, with lots of great geology\, pool-drop rapids\, sidewaves\, waterfalls\, wild flowers and grasses. \nWE suggest paddle rafts\, paddle cats\, inflatable and hard shell kayaks. Big cat boats and loaded rafts do not work well! \nWe will be meeting Saturday at the BZ Corner Put-in\, Saturday at 10:am. Shuttle leaves shortly thereafter. \nThe river is a pool drop Class 3+ with optional Class V Husum Falls. There is a  portage around the falls by lining your boat around. It is fairly straightforward\, but it does take some skill. \nWhen staging at BZ\, DO NOT launch way early and clog up the river access. Many commercial outfitters and other users need access too. It is super easy to keep your boat at the top. Get dressed\, shuttle\, drag your boat down to the river\, get your PFD on and then launch…then paddle into the safety eddy. Identify and launch with your safety pods in small groups so we don’t get into each other’s way. Thank you for your consideration! \nCamping is available Friday and Saturday nights at Hollenbeck Park\, 33 Mt. Adams Road\, Trout Lake\, WA ( off Hwy 141 to Mt Adams about ½ mile north of the store/restaurant/gas station) \nIt is such a sweet campground\, with grass and a great view of Mt. Adams\, plenty of shade\, with room for games and a creek to cool off. \nSome years they have guests Thursday night\, so please respect others if you are arriving earlier Friday. SUMMARY:42nd Annual Carey Berger Memorial Skagit Run\, August 8th
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 42nd annual Carey Berger Memorial Fundraiser!  TONS OF CAMPING THIS YEAR!!!   Check it out….    Camping opens August 6th and checkout is August 10th at NOON. Some people will boat on Friday\, but the real fun begins on Saturday morning – obtain your cards and build your prize-winning hands as you float the river with your friends. Hands are obtained via donation of $5 each. Card Station #1 is at the put in where you can get more information and receive your hands. Stations #2-5 are along the river in different eddies and beaches. Pay attention\, stations come up fast!! At the end of the day (7pm)\, we have a great potluck and pass out the prizes to winners. \nThis year we will be running Marblemount to Rockport\, the class II Section of the Skagit. \nStations generally launch between 9-930am. Most floaters launch from 0930-1130am. The sweep boat launches between 1130-noon. \nThere is no planned lunch at station 3 this year so make sure to bring your own. \nPotluck and prizes are at 7pm!! This is a game of skill. If you miss the prizes or a station you will play a hand short!!! \nThis is always a great family event. The camp will be busy\, we ask that you help us accommodate all campers by sharing and not reserving camps. If you have a camper or RV\, please make sure you are prepared to share tent sites next to where you camp. \nThere is free camping for WRRR members ($10 donation for non-members) at lower Goodell Creek group camp and is separated into two parts. The upper and lower loops A & B. Please keep noise down after 10pm. Please make sure coolers are locked in a vehicle or bear box. Last year the parks confiscated several coolers left out. \nCarey Berger had cerebral palsy\, and it didn’t stop him from enjoying whitewater events. Carey was one of the original trip leaders of this event in 1985. \n\n\n\nIf floating the section between Goodell and Copper creek\, please self register with NPS at the launch point.

SUMMARY:Tieton Rally
DESCRIPTION:WHEN: September 12\, 2026\nWHERE: Tieton River\n\nCamp with WRRR members\, friends\, and family on the sunny Tieton River! For the month of September\, there are irrigation releases from Rimrock Lake\, and boaters from all over flock to the Tieton to take advantage. Flows usually peak in the middle of the month\, and we’ll be right there!\n\n\n\nThe Tieton is a Class 3+ run with continuous gradient\, lots of rapids\, few eddies\, and a runnable dam. There will be trips leaving from the WRRR camping spot on river right\, Friday through Sunday. It’s the third pull out on the right along FR 1200\, somewhere around here:  46.66623\, -121.09862\n\n\n\nClub members and friends camp for free on the Forest Service land in the same spot WRRR has been invading for years. aka ‘the dustbowl.’ WRRR will provide clean\, portable toilets\, but there are no other amenities except what you bring (and some trees\, rocks\, river\, etc.). Pack out what you bring and help WRRR and the other outfitters keep this area clean and open.\n\n\n\nKeep in mind that some people may be cat people.  So please keep dogs on a leash in the main camp area when unattended\, and especially at dinner time.\n\n\n\nAnd most importantly\, be safe on the water! Know your skill level\, bring proper gear\, and be mindful of other boats on the water. The fast current of the Tieton and narrow banks will keep you on your toes from start to finish!\n\nHope you can make it. REMINDER THERE IS AN “UN” OFFICIAL SATURDAY POTLUCK SEPT 12TH 6PM AT THE WRRR DUST BOWL. It may be quiet or it may be huge! Ya never know.

We can move the BBQ there depending on group dynamic. \nThe Sauk is an excellent intermediate whitewater run. Depending on the flows it can be friendly or “mean and green”. Don’t hesitate to contact our trip leader if you’re not sure your up to it — he knows it well and can help you make the decision\, and may even have room for you in his raft. We will eddy out more if new folks are on the run that day. \nKEY TIMES: Meet at Darrington IGA at 10 a.m. We will decide then which takeout we’re taking and will drop off cars on the way upstream to Whitechuck. \nIf river levels are too low or high\, we will often run the lower Sauk or Skagit. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Fifth Annual Headhunt on Headworks\, Green River Washington!\n\nThis is a community building event and fundraiser for Mayday Foundation. Mayday provides immediate\, practical financial support to local families coping with cancer while raising kids at home. We believe that no one should be forced out of their home or into bankruptcy as a result of a cancer diagnosis. Last year\, with over 75 participants\, we raised over $4800 and hope to raise over $5000 this year. \n\n\nWe will boat no matter the flow. Historically\, flows average 200-300. Our lowest was 180 cfs\, and everyone had a great time! Surprisingly\, there were some great surf waves at those flows!\n\nNumbered skulls will be thrown at boaters as they pass by our Grim Reaper for kayakers to retrieve & exchange for prizes. Along with some raffle baskets with items donated by the paddling community.\nCostumes are encouraged as well as proper white water gear and helmets. Keep an eye on the Facebook event page to see what donations will be included. There will be a potluck gathering after the run. \n\n\n\n\nDate and Time\n\nSaturday\, October 24\, 2026\, 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM\n\n\n\nLocation\nMeet at the upper lot of Kanasket park\, by the bathrooms\, at 9:00 am to await further instructions regarding shuttle. DESCRIPTION:Save the date for the 42nd ANNUAL Green River Cleanup!!!! Saturday 5-2-26\n\n\nJoin WRRR\, Paddle trails\, OWA\, WKC\, BeWet\, Nature Nuts\, Boy Scouts\, Green River Coalition\, WA state parks\, and other several local clubs (if we missed your group let us know!)\, neighbors and friends at the 41st Annual Green River Cleanup on Saturday May 3th!!! Every year lots of outdoor enthusiast enjoy the day recreating along the river\, and cleaning up trash at the same time. As always\, there will be lots to do for boaters and non boaters. River stretches are rated class II-IV. The last several years proved that we will boat no matter the flow! Hiking and ground crew sections are available from flat trail to adventurous river corridor cleaning. We found some huge trash areas and have local neighbor’s helping out as well! \n\n\nBe prepared for a long day on the river collecting trash. Bring snacks\, dress for some degree of hiking the shoreline\, and most of all have fun and feel good about making our rivers cleaner. There will be a BBQ at Flaming Geyser state park after the cleanup.\n\n\n\n\n\nOnline registration will be available the week prior to the event. In person registration can be done from 10am-11am at the Headworks put in (just before the army corps gate on river left)\, and at Kanasket-Palmer State Park (in the parking lot near ledge drop one) from 9:30am- 10:30am. Help us clean up the Green River and keep it one of the most beautiful rivers you can raft.\n\n\nCleanup members will enjoy free camping at Kanasket-Palmer Campground\, Friday and Saturday nights. Please RSVP if you have an RV. 360-319-6524 \nGRCU will be hosting a BBQ at Flaming Geyser picnic shelter #3 on Saturday afternoon/evening after the event for members (or a $5 donation for non-members). What- you need a time? It’s after the river cleanup safety and sweep boat committee arrives! Come on out!!! SUMMARY:Clean the Green
DESCRIPTION:Save the date for the 42nd ANNUAL Green River Cleanup!!!! Saturday 5-2-26\n\n\nJoin WRRR\, Paddle trails\, OWA\, WKC\, BeWet\, Nature Nuts\, Boy Scouts\, Green River Coalition\, WA state parks\, and other several local clubs (if we missed your group let us know!)\, neighbors and friends at the 41st Annual Green River Cleanup on Saturday May 3th!!! Every year lots of outdoor enthusiast enjoy the day recreating along the river\, and cleaning up trash at the same time. As always\, there will be lots to do for boaters and non boaters. River stretches are rated class II-IV. The last several years proved that we will boat no matter the flow! Hiking and ground crew sections are available from flat trail to adventurous river corridor cleaning. We found some huge trash areas and have local neighbor’s helping out as well! \n\n\nBe prepared for a long day on the river collecting trash. Bring snacks\, dress for some degree of hiking the shoreline\, and most of all have fun and feel good about making our rivers cleaner. There will be a BBQ at Flaming Geyser state park after the cleanup.\n\n\n\n\n\nOnline registration will be available the week prior to the event. In person registration can be done from 10am-11am at the Headworks put in (just before the army corps gate on river left)\, and at Kanasket-Palmer State Park (in the parking lot near ledge drop one) from 9:30am- 10:30am. Help us clean up the Green River and keep it one of the most beautiful rivers you can raft.\n\n\nCleanup members will enjoy free camping at Kanasket-Palmer Campground\, Friday and Saturday nights. Please RSVP if you have an RV. 360-319-6524 \nGRCU will be hosting a BBQ at Flaming Geyser picnic shelter #3 on Saturday afternoon/evening after the event for members (or a $5 donation for non-members). What- you need a time? It’s after the river cleanup safety and sweep boat committee arrives! Come on out!!! Usually it’s starting around 3pm and wrapping up around 6pm +/- river time  \nThe Green River Cleanup **NEEDS YOUR VOLUNTEER** HELP to help make the event smooth and enjoyable for everyone.
