6.Finance Report – Duane- Current Bank account $3685.95. Outstanding Invoice from River Recreation for rescue class of $1200.00. That needs to be paid.

7.Standing Committee Reports

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion- Candice reports that the application for the permit for the Diversity Whitewater event was never made due to violent actions taking place at the time. The event in September will not happen

2. River Watch – The wood in Whirlpool on the Sauk River is gone.

3. Safety and Education – Mark – The class was a success. 10 WRRR members were supported by WRRR ($120.00) to obtain their American Canoe Association (ACA) Level 4 Swiftwater Rescue certification. The instructor was Don Martin and he was very passionate about everyone building skills in moving water environments

4. Communications – Matt -The website homepage has been updated. Old events were removed and new events posted.

5. Membership – A new membership chair is needed. Chad is just too overwhelmed to help us out. The tracking of paid members and expiration dates is a real problem. The use of Quick Books has been proposed. The cost is $37 per month. That’s one membership fee per month. Candice and Rebecca think that’s too much. Duane has limited experience with Quick Books and more experience with Excel. Candice wants to try to develop an Excel spreadsheet for members. Rebecca made a motion to allow Candice to develop an Excel Spreadsheet to track members information – Name, Address, Phone, Email, Membership anniversary. The spreadsheet needs to be complete by the Wenatchee Rendezvous. If the Excel spreadsheet doesn’t work out, the club will try Quick Books. Candice agreed to the motion, Mark seconded the motion, motion passed

6. Programs and Volunteers – No report.

7. Mail pick up – No report.

8. WRRR Wear – Mark has sold $365 of shirts at Green River Clean-up and an additional shirt at the Wenatchee.

8.Events

Nisqually Clean-up – event went well. Recap from organizers was published int theWaterlog

2. Swiftwater Class – see above discussion.

3. Flip Practice – Small turnout – 4 members with families. Boats and kayaks were flipped and rolled. The potluck was good. Mark received input that the flip practice should be on the river. Rebecca stated that this flip practice is for novices to learn how their equipment works and that doing this in a river could result in lost gear. Candice stated that she lost her boat in Big Eddy n the Skykomish. Mark then agreed that if anyone brings it up to him again, he will as them to organize an event for more seasoned boaters.

4. Green River Clean-up – Candice reports about 30 on the water and another 10 at the BBQ. Three sections were run, Headworks, Lower gorge and Yo-yo to Whitney Bridge. Candice has reserved the group site for next year. After hearing input she will request an additional 4 sites for RV’s. Mark Burns’ old helmet was found. There as $50 obtained from donations and the food receipts were $165, well under budget. WRRR wear income was used to pay Nancy for the food. The receipts need to get to Duane.

5. Clackfest/Cispus (same time period)- Clackfest, USFS campgrounds are still not open. Cispus organization done by WKC.

6. Wenatchee Rendezvous – May 30- Nancy needs to purchase Plates, Forks, Garbage bags (big) and get them to Mark. Mark needs to bring Prizes and Ops tote with supplies (plates, raffle tickets etc.). Mark will develop an agenda for the Membership meeting. People will need to bring their own trash bags as the dump is closed on Sundays. Kellen Spect will be trip leader. The building will be open Friday and Saturday evenings. People can show up Thursday afternoon. Port-a-potties will be there. People will need to pack out their own trash. Mark will pay Aaron $500 from the ticket sales.

7. White Salmon – Candice called Zoe at least 3 times to confirm our dates. Duane needs to send the payment.

8. Skagit Run – Candice has a write up on the calendar. Marblemont to Rockport. Camping and potluck at Goodell.

9. Tieton – Port-a-potties ordered. Mark to organize 6 pm potluck

10. Rogue – Candice to check with Jason Cohen

11. Gear Swap – Oct 10

12. Sauktoberfest – Oct 17th

13. New Event – Head Hunt October 24th. Headworks section on the Green River. It’s a fundraiser for the MayDay Foundation (Breast Cancer Research). All the organization is done be others but we want this on our calendar

6. Finance Report – Duane- Transferred $359.45 from PayPal to Bank Account. Current Bank account $3138.99. Credit Card balance is $0.00

2. River Watch – No report

3. Safety and Education – Mark – 12 members are enrolled for the Apr 25-26 ACA Swiftwater Level 4 class. An additional 12 slots have opened up at the regular discounted but not subsidized rate. Contact Mark Burns or Lance Bailey if interested.

4. Communications – Jarrad – is working on getting the updated membership pricing out in the Waterloo and on the website. Effective as of March 22nd. He is also working on developing a spreadsheet that will work with a Mail Chimp email telling members when their memberships are due with each Waterlog that goes out. This will help with revenue development.

Mark brought up the Rule of 85 and why Jay HAsn’t received his Waterlog. The current system only captures those folks who have paid. Jarrad will look into why Jay hasn’t received a Waterlog. He will look into updating the system to include Rule of 85. He needs to work with Chad in Membership. Matt added that he updated the Website following the Collegiate Race and added text about the Swiftwater Class.

6. Programs and Volunteers – Combination of River Ops and Randy and Rob. There was a discussion about entertainment for the Wenatchee Rendezvous. With budget issues it was finally determined that we would promote an open mic. Rob will write an article for the Waterlog, Facebook, and the website announcing the Open Mic. He will also try to get the necessary gear.

7. Mail pick up – Nancy regrets the oversights, she did not stop.

1. Collegiate Race – went well. Candice had a table set up

2. Nisqually Clean-up – Rebecca will be scouting the lower section for navigation hazards on Friday. Shopping will also be done on Friday. She will get receipts to Duane.

3. Swiftwater Class – see above discussion

4. Flip Practice – Apr 26th. Complete potluck

5. Green River Clean-up – May 2nd- Candice doing the set up. She has sign in sheets from the State Park. There are issues with the other clubs regarding Online sign-ups and waivers so the clubs have all decided to sign members up on their own site. There was a question about the Green River Coalition. In the evolution of the Green River Clean-up WRRR has taken over more and more of the responsibilities for organizing it and the GR Coalition has been absorbed by WRRR. There is a Green River Clean-up Facebook page. The last entries were done by Brenan last year. Nancy will ask Jay to coordinate with Candice and get that FB page updated. Candice mentioned that many people are leaving Facebook. As far as the food. Nancy said she would shop. Rebecca will help with food and both will coordinate with Candice. It will be a potluck with burgers provided by WRRR.

6. Wenatchee Rendezvous – May 30- Things are pretty set up. True Potluck. Porta potties are ordered, Gun Club reserved.

7. Misc River Ops- We need $500 for Hollenbeck Park. Nancy to send Duane address to send check to and the date its needed

9. Old Business

1. Budget- The proposed budget had more money going out than coming in so Mark needed to take a radical look at it. Green River Clean-up and Nisqually Clean-ups are ok at $200 each. A donation of $100 for each matched the WRRR allocation of $100 so those are fine. Nancy went down the budget items and took many costs off the sheet. Flip practice costs, the cost of prizes (since we already have them), WRRR wear has already been purchased. The big discussion was our AWA affiliate membership. Mark wants to wait until next month to pay at a $400 rate instead of $500, but only if we continue to get membership renewals. There was also a discussion of using higher ticket prices for higher valued items. Eventually Mark made the motion to approve the revised budget without the AWA membership and wait until the May board meeting to address adding it back. Candice 2nd and the motion passed.

2. Membership Roster – See above discussions in Communications

3. Merkys Presentation – There will be no meeting. Candice is forwarding emails about the good work they are doing with Tom O’Keefe (AWA) and river access issues.

10. New Business

1. Rule of 85 discussion. Mark read the by-laws regarding the Rule of 85 and is questioning why its called Rule of 85 when the totals are 75. (Any member who has been a member in good standing for at least 25 years and is at least 50 years of age will be given a free membership at the lowest paid level.) He wants to change the by-law. Rebecca suggested he form a By-law revision committee and come up with the language he wants. Changing a By-law requires a timely notification and vote my the membership. The last By-law change was done during the board election so that the membership could vote on it. Mark wants to include a By-law revision on the May agenda. A notice can also go out to membership through the Mail Chimp email system.

2. WRRR Board Group email. Jarrad has already confirmed the emails but Candice did not receive the Zoom notice so Jarrad will check on it.

3. Raffle Ticket prices were discussed during the Budget discussion.

4. Waterlog Articles – Candice to write one for the Collegiate Race

Prior to the meeting there was concern that the agenda could not be viewed online and Lance had tried to publish it several times. We need assistance from a Word Press pro to figure it out. Lance finally just emailed the agenda out to board members.

6. Finance report – $2391.95 currently in account. $371 was just transferred over from PayPal and that will reflect in three days. Credit Card bill of $14.34 due. Duane will develop a spreadsheet with member names from PayPal and checks.

2. River Watch – Candice – NF Sky has wood and Sauk has wood in Whirlpool.

3. Safety and Education – Mark – Safety Class is filling up. Last report was 10 slots of 12 filled. Class will take place at River Recreation site. Don can handle more but needs a heads up to hire another instructor. Mark says WRRR may not be able to budget for more reduced price slots. Mark and Lance decided to cross that bridge if we fill up the class and other members are asking for more room.

4. Communications – Jarrad and Matt – Matt updated the website banner. Tieton and White Salmon need to be updated on calendar. Candice wants some input on the Skagit write up.

5. Mail Pick up – Nancy – She picked up mail. One membership check that she already sent to Duane

6. WRRR Wear – Mark – nothing new

8. Events

Tilton – Candice asked Brian to write an article. Water was low and wood was plentiful. Some opted to hike

2. Collegiate Whitewater Race ( Apr 4)

3. Nisqually Clean-up (Apr 11) – McKenna park is open. WRRR to donate $200 for food

4. Level 4 Swiftwater course (Apr 25/26) – See above

5. Flip Practice (Apr26) Mark to check with Jim and making this event a potluck as turnout has been low with lottos food left over.

6. Green River Clean-up (May 2) – Candice has completed paperwork for the park regarding volunteers. We did not get the group camp this year. Folks are asked to make their own individual reservation at their own expense at Flaming Geyser this year. We need to make a decision about food. $200 for food is in budget

7. Wenatchee Rendezvous (May 30). Aaron needs $500 for the gun club. No money for music this year. Candice to split prizes – half for Rendezvous and half for Skagit.

9. Old Business

Audit committee met. No descrepancies were found. Brenan was on the phone so it was slow. The change of banks threw a wrench in the works. Rebecca asked Duane to screen shot the bank account every month before the Board meeting so he has an accurate accounting. Duane agreed. From the audit committee meeting should come the Proposed Budget but Duane was behind schedule. Rebecca made a motion for Dunae to finish up the Proposed Budget spreadsheet and email it out to the Board Members. Board members are to vote to approve or amend the Proposed Budget by email. Nancy second the motion and it passed.

3. Merkys (WDFW) presentation has been delayed until next month.

10. New Business

Membership Dues increase – Nancy made a motion to increase the dues by $10 for each level. They will now be $40, $50, & $65. Randy second the motion and it passed. Mark explained that a pitcher of beer currently cost $40 and it used to be $15 so he feels the increase is legit. The new rates will go into effect on April 1st. Jarrad will make a note in the Waterlog and change the website.

January 2026 meeting minutes approved Motion by Mark Burns 2^nd by Lance Bailey, all voted in favor
Member numbers – Not available due to the current project of getting roster updated. Jarrad Krueger (Waterlog Editor) has subm& Chad O’Neill (Membership Chair) are working on this project and progress is being made to produce a new membership roster in late Spring or early Summer 2026.
Finance report – Duane Hansen WRRR has $2,391.95 in Checking Account after transferring $595.31 from Paypal and paying off the credit card with $295.05. WRRR has a few thousand dollars of T Shirt inventory.
Mark Trivett (WRRR Volunteer & Attorney at Law) reports on Poker Run logistics and communication with National Park Service over permitting : Summary of board Q & A discussion with Mark Trivett Saturday August 8, 2026 Bob Johnson Memorial Poker Run Skagit River Update of new format to comply with North Cascades National Park policy changes.

A) North Cascades National Park is now being managed by staff at Lake Roosevelt National Park and is receptive to working with WRRR for a permit .
B) Permitting requires a large single day insurance company and costs are high through private insurance company. Affiliated club membership with American Canoe Association cost would be half the private insurance company cost. Club does not have funding available for insurance in 2026.

C)Discussion about not having organized float ultimately looks like it is not a good option even if dues are raised because WRRR won’t hold its biggest fundraiser. Lifetime membership options were discussed. Skagit was a positive side of balance sheet and is now on negative side of balance sheet.

D) In order to produce a 2026 event it was decided that WRRR will still use the Goodell Creek Group Campground Thursday August 6^th , 2026 through Sunday August 9^th , 2026 but on Saturday August 8^th, 2026 WRRR will float a lower stretch of the river and launch at Marblemount put in (at confluence of Cascade River and Skagit River) and takeout at Howard Miller Steelhead Park. Potluck and prizes will still be at campground on Saturday night. Sunday August 9, 2026 float will not be an organized float but some members will float individual floats launching from Goodell Creek Launch point.

E )Issues were raised by Mark Burns but not discussed by Board that 1) Dues will need to be raised in 2026 2) System to send out Renewal notices will need to be set up and 3) new system to manage membership roster will need to be set up. These issues need to be addressed at March 2026 WRRR Board Meeting

1. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion – Candice Larson There will be event in September 6 & 7 2026
2. River Watch – Candice Larson She has been making changes to river descriptions and submitted info to the WRRR Waterlog for publication and the WRRR Facebook page is being updated also. She also encourages people to update American Whitewater as it is widely read by many people.
3. Safety and Education –Lance Bailey and Mark Burns WRRR is partnering with Don Martin from River Recreation to put on a 2 day (April 25 and 26 2026) Bring Your Own Boat ACA Level 4 Swiftwater rescue course on the Wenatchee River (tentatively planned at River Booty property in Dryden, WA with River Rec site in monitor, wa as a backup. Don is discounting the $350 per student course tuition, WRRR is chipping in $100 per student for up to 12 WRRR members and each student will pay $120 directly to River Recreation via a link Don has supplied. Nancy made motion to proceed with class, Mark seconded motion.
4. Communications (Website)– Jarrad Kruger and Matt Brown are working on website updates and Waterlog production
5. Membership – Chad O’Neill unavailable due to work conflict

1. Presentation by Merkys (Representative from WA Dept of Fish & Wildlife’s Regional Water Access Management Committee) Candice says this may move to April Board Meeting
2. WRRR Membership Roster – This will need to be followed up in March Board Meeting. Mark Burns reports that David Elliott will help with this once he gets back from an international trip at end of February. The last WRRR membership roster was produced in 2023 and there is no current system in place for sending out renewals. Mark Burns stated that he thinks the Membership chair needs to be in charge of Roster. Chad O’Neill WRRR incoming membership chair has reported very little availability until mid April due to excessive work load at his paid job.

New Business
1. This item was not covered and needs to be in March 11, 2026 WRRR Board Meeting Agenda Address questions outlined in Jarrad’s email (Feb 9^th) regarding the membership database Followup Needed: Jarrad’s spreadsheet of members is updated through 12/31/2025. Someone needs to update the spreadsheet with dues paid since 12/31/2025 and add these dates, names, emails, phone numbers to spreadsheet. Each month by 15^th of month waterlog@wrrr.org should receive an updated spreadsheet. Process for sending out renewal notices needs to be established.

1.Nancy volunteered to continue as Chairperson. She called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm.

3. Mark motioned to approve November meeting minutes, Rebecca 2nd. Motion passed.

4. Agenda was reviewed. By law change was added under new business

5. Nancy had everyone introduce themselves. It was very nice to have so many in attendance.

6. Mark gave a brief President’s Welcome Message. Mark went down the list of Standing Committees and who has volunteered to chair each committee. He covered some of last year’s hardships, such as the cancelled Skagit event due to National Park Service letter and how a few people have carried a big load for the club. He will be using the By-Laws to help determine work responsibilities.

2. River Watch – Candice. Lots of changes on several rivers. Cedar has dangerous wood throughout.

3. Safety and Education – Lance and Mark – Mark is reaching out to Don Martin and Mike Curtis for a possible rescue class in April. Lance to assist in organizing. They need to know financial status so we can budget the class.

4.Communications – Jarrad is overwhelmed with communications and the Waterlog. Matt Brown will assist with keeping the website updated and let Jarrad focus on the Waterlog

5. Membership – Chad O’Neill will take a shot a getting this organized

6. Programs and Volunteers – Rob Ross will take a shot at getting this committee going

1. January 15, General Membership Meeting at BJ’s in Tukwila. Overnight trip planning and permit submissions is usually the topic

3. Collegiate Whitewater Race – April 4. This is an event that has been happening for 13 years or so. College and high school students from the western US come to race on the Skykomish River. WRRR can assist by providing safety boats or making donations for prizes. Candice will put on WRRR calendar.

4. Nisqually Clean-up – April 11. McKenna park is currently closed. Rebecca will contact to see if there is a target date for opening.

5. Green River Clean-up – May 2nd – Green River Clean-up Committee Candice, Randy D., Chad, are leads. Mark, Paul S. and Brenan may also be helping out.

6. Flip Practice – April 26th. Jim Johnson to organize

7. Wenatchee Rendezvous – May 30th weekend. At the Dryden Gun Club.

8. Other events that still need to be added to the calendar are the White Salmon, the Tieton and the Rogue River trip. Candice to do this.

4. Update on Cascade National Park FOIA – Mark Trivett submitted a FOIA request and the park replied that it couldn’t be filled until July 2026. Mark wants to pursue having a meeting, Rebecca can join him. Rebecca made a motion to have Mark and Rebecca reach out to the the NPS to find if there is any way we can move forward with having a Carey Berger Memorial Summer Float event on the Skagit River. This may include investigating a permit application. Duane 2nd. Motion passed

12. New Business

1. Changing the date of the regular Board meetings. Rebecca made a motion to move the monthly meetings to the second Wednesday of the month. Lance 2nd. Motion passed. Mark to arrange ZOOM set up.

  3. Jessica Aarhause met with Jarrad. She had several suggestions. Jarrad feels that the biggest need is to find a person with time to dedicate to the website to do routine maintenance and work further with the membership database/Word Press interface. She knows a person who working on that for her sailing club that might have suggestions. She suggested that is someone could take over the Waterlog, then Jarrad might have more time but the Waterlog software is fussier that WordPress and Jarrad thinks he should stay focused on the Waterlog. Rebecca brought up the fact that WRRR has an IT position that provides a free membership. The Whole topic was discussed and punted to 2026 when the new board will come in. A new Membership Chair can help lead this effort.

2. Sauktoberfest recap – Brenan was approached by a NPS ranger asking about a permit for a group. Brenan had filled out a self issue permit but the ranger was not satisfied. Brenan let the ranger know that we (WRRR) have had no response from Cascade National Park to several inquiries about the permit forms, needs, or other requirements. Brenan feels this is a significant barrier to recreation in this National Park.
3. Gear Swap recap – the weather was poor but people still showed up. No repairs, Mark purchased a new frame. Nancy suggested the board look at participation and see if we want to continue doing this event.
4. Misc River Ops – There is a survey out for Flood issues on the Cedar River. It was posted on the WRRR Facebook page.

North Cascades National Park – Mark Trivett called in to discuss recourse for WRRR regarding the club’s use of the Skagit River through the National Park for our August family event (formally called the Poker Run). Mark said he would research what type of special use permit we need to boat the river as a group. Conducting a Poker Run, as we have in the past will most likely no longer be possible. But WRRR still wants to camp and boat the river in the National Park. He will also submit a FOIA request to try to find out what the original complaints are about our activities so we can try to address them. For example, did an outfitter complain and what was the nature of the complaint about us being on the river. Mark wants to stress that the river is actually safer with WRRR members on it. This all has to wait for the federal shutdown to end. Rebecca wants to hold a competition to rename the August event.
New Business

  1. Options for next year will be looked at by Operations Sub Committee. People that did go expressed their desire for camping at Goodell even without the poker event. Being in the woods, near the creek, ease of containing children, proximity to the river and ability to hold a pot luck are all pluses for staying there. Candice will try to book sites A and B for next year.
  2. Options for poker run include running to Marblemont and holding a modified prize give away there. Many drawbacks, still under discussion
  3. Yakima was mentioned. Class 2 section has very poor access for rafts. Class 1 section is beautiful but not ideal. Still under discussion

  1. Discussions about holding the Poker Run here concluded that the river is too busy, the eddies are too small/busy and we don’t want to draw further bad attention to the club. So no Poker Run event at the Tieton. Prizes will be stored for next year’s Redezvous.

We need to figure out how to keep member’s email for PayPal separate from the one they want to receive the Waterlog. That may happen with the Member Portal (see discussion below).

  1. After 31 years, Chase closed our account. There was a problem with the signature card that we used to add Duane in Renton. Part of the problem was the difference in the club name between the bank account and the Washington Secretary of State. Rebecca fixed the problem last month but Chase didn’t follow-up and closed the account on Friday, May 30th. They were unable to reopen that account on Monday, June 2nd.
  2. Mark made a motion to authorize Rebecca to open a new account for the club, Washington Recreational River Runners, at Key Bank and add Duane and Brenan, as well as Rebecca as signatories to the account. Randy second the motion. No discussion and the motion passed.
  3. Mark made a motion that new credit cards be obtained from Key Bank for Nancy, Duane, and Candice. Rebecca second the motion, no discussion and the motion passed.
  4. We need to close our credit card account at Chase. Nancy may have to do this since she opened those accounts. Duane made a motion for Rebecca to try to close the credit card account.   1. There needs to be a quick meeting to get the membership list into Mail Chimp. Jarrad just needs to add some more fields to the current list.
  2. Mick needs to turn on the Membership portal, then members can update their own personal information and choose what they want shared to the rest of the membership.
  3. Currently renewals are not getting on the list and that needs to be corrected and past renewals hand entered. Expiration dates will be in Mail Chimp.
  4. Mark wants a timeframe for completion. Brenan needs the new membership forms that Rebecca has. She will photo and send. Rebecca can come north to work with Brenan to hand enter information in July.

4. Communications – Brenan recapped Jarrad’s email. More back issues of Waterlog have been posted. We need someone to advocate for an article at the Rendezvous (Jarrad will not be there). Variable payment on Website should be working. Jarrad connected with David about the Database. More in-depth and complicated than originally thought. Because of the lack of functionality in the Membership Database, reminders haven’t gone out and up to date paid memberships are at an all time low. Jarrad, Brenan and Mic are still working on this. A functioning Membership database was in the RFP for the new website so Mic owes us. There should be a phone call in a week and Brenan encourages all Board members to attend. Mark will set up a Zoom once the date is set.

1. Flip Practice Round-up Brenan reports lite turn out. BBQ was good. Only 7 people. Low turn out probably due to database issue where members are not getting Waterlog. Manual input is probably needed. Nancy has the 2023 Roster if needed.
2. Green River Clean-up Round-up Low turn out historic low water. Headworks and Yo-yo were completed on water. Ground crews in many locations, Bryan Holmes cleaned at guerrilla launch. Nails were an issue. Next year we need to bring magnets.
3. Wenatchee Rendezvous May 29-June 2
  1. Camping is set. We need $500 to pay for camping. Take out of raffle income. Candice has all prizes and will divide. Trip leaders-Brenan

Minutes from the March meeting were reviewed. Brenan made a motion to append the minutes to include member position titles and that a Quorum was established. Rebecca will make those changes. Mark 2nd the motion and the motion passed. Rebecca made a motion to approve the March minutes with the above changes, Brenan 2nd, motion passed.

  1. Website Database struggle. Two items are red flags. Database accuracy and PayPal links for incremental payments. Brenan feels as though these two items were in the original RFP for the website development and that Mick needs to get them right. The database is crucial for membership tracking. PayPal links are also super important because that’s the major way the club gets money from the members. Mark asked about what type of PlugIn Mick is using for the database. No one knows. Mark was suggesting Member Press as an easy solution because it works with Word Press. Mark knows more about it than the rest of us combined. That’s why he’s the President. Brenan said that he and Jarrad would pressure Mick into getting us solutions. Yellow flag is river gauge links.

3. Discuss what officer positions directors are interested in learning. Many people are learning new skills. This is all good.

Mark Burns nominated Nancy for Chairman, Repo 2nd. Nancy will not develop agenda or put meetings on the calendar. Lance is possible for that but Mark will do until he finds someone who can. Motion passed

Jarrad website discussion – Much progress has been (Waterlog archive set up back to 2019) made but we need a standard way to update the website. Repo suggests we have a separate working meeting. Meeting set for Monday, March 17th at 7 pm. Mark will set up Zoom. It is suggested that the entire Board attend. Brenan needs Sally Haas’ email.
Dues discussion. It has been 20 years since the dues were increased. Lots of money spent last year on website development and with the glitches not much money came in. We will do better. No motion to increase dues.
Waterlog articles. There is always a need for articles but boaters are not necessarily writers. short discussion on giving incentives to write. Jarrard suggest we wait for overnight trips to start and encourage members to write. Jarrard is working on making the Waterlog interactive with website.
Mail Chimp issues. Jarrad set it up but is having problems moving data from old Mail Chimp file into a new Mail Chimp file. Brenan made a motion to approve $156 for a Mail Chimp Subscription. Mark 2nd, motion passed.
Green River.org update. Brenan did an update. The site is very old and needs some TLC. Brenan will contact Brian Vogt for assistance. Candice has updated WRRR webpage re: Green River.
Duane still does not have access to the Bank Account. Brenan made a motion to designate Duane Hansen as our Treasurer. Mark 2nd. Motion passed. Duane to arrange a date with Nancy to meet at a local Chase Bank branch and get signature authority.

Main Cleanup event is Saturday 5-3-2025 registration 930 AM to 11 AM at Kanaskat Palmer, Headworks, Flaming Geyser Camping Kanaskat Palmer State Park Fri and Sat nights. Candice verified camp sites 1-6 and the Group site are reserved for WRRR.
  4. Thursday May 29, 2025 to Monday June 2^nd, 2025 Bob Johnson Memorial Wenatchee River Rendezvous Dryden Gun Club Camping Thursday may 29^th 4 PM until Monday June 2^nd at Noon Main Float Saturday May 31^st Details and times need to be discussed. WRRR River Ops needs. Prizes. Brenan made a motion to spend $1000 on prizes. Mark 2nd. Motion passed. WRRR needs to pay cash to caretaker Aaron (509) 670-9809 on Monday am. Take cash out of ticket sales.

-Mark will check into posting it. Looks like we can update the calendar to “List view”. Brenan notes that the list view is on the home page. Jarrad will see what the settings are. Jarrad was able to update the calendar to list mode.

-Tilton Trek: Cancelled due to low weather. No backup rivers are found due to low flows. Cispus is currently 400cfs.

-Green river cleanup. May 3rd, 2025. Brenan will work on updating the GRCU.org website. Everyone will reach out to their contacts. Candice is reaching out to Be-wet, Green river coalition.

-Should we consider getting a singer again? Some discussion. $100 is ok for the budget? Consensus is that we should get the old acoustic WRRR band back together for evening festivities

-Payment for the facilites to the gun club will be cash at the event. Can use the proceeds of the raffle tickets. Mark will pay them Sunday. See below.

Finance:

-Brenan and Duane will work on a budget for the March meeting approval.

Waterlog:

-Is it getting out? It is getting sent out. 143 active subscribers going out from Mail Chimp each month. A few emails have bounced back. A few updates are happening and most are database related.

-Discussion about sending the waterlog out with an alias. Jarrad is working on this issue.

-Discuss possibly subscribing $10 per month to get more emails and eliminate the work around. The free version is a little clunky.

-Candice is sending out weekly lists and blogs. This is maxing out the free version. The email list has been well received, esp by non facebook people.

-Email discussions about 1 account vs 3 accounts. OK to use the same log in? Brenan maybe wrote this up wrong?

-Currently the email list is manually updated

- Election results are attached. No surprises. I saved the screen view as our free version doesn’t allow the data to be exported to Excel or a PDF. I think this is enough, but if we need a record of all emails that voted I can screenshot those too.
- Email system is now active. We moved to MailChimp and after a month with the standard plan I moved it to the free option which appears to be enough for our needs. If at some point, we need more capacity the cost is about $85/yr after taxes. We get up to 400 emails/month with the free version, so this is only enough for sending out the Waterlog and one other notice each month.
- I took the Paypal information and filtered it for members that had payments in 2023/2024, the list is attached (in the email). There is some reconciliation that will need to be done.
- - I then took all names that have no recorded payment in 2023 or 2024. There are 169 names. I suggest the Board consider reaching out to these individuals with either a rejoin request or promotion. The list should be scrubbed for accuracy, but this could be a good opportunity to increase our numbers.

1. -Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion – Rebecca/Brenan. Need to talk to Megan about helping DW trips. Hoping to add DW calendar events.
2. -River Watch – Candice Larson – Kayakers possibly to go in and cut the logs out on the Tilton. Tilton cancelled due to low flows.
3. -Safety and Education – Rebecca/Candace -Brenan made the motion for WRRR to cover $1,400 of expense. Must be a WRRR member in good standing prior to January 1, 2024. Repo 2nd the motion. Approved. Lance with Wildwater/Sierra happy to teach a class April 20-21, 2024. $300/per person. WRRR to pay $140 for up to 10 people, $1,400 total. Need article for website and Waterlog, Candice working on. Brenan to add to calendar. Wilderness First-Aid flyer in the mail. Will post to Facebook page for information.
4. -Communications – Jarrad K – Working with website rebuild. Brenan to check on status.
5. -Membership – Tamie Stonke. Brenan would like to discuss adding a lifetime membership to the new website. Discussion with some members over the years that they would prefer to pay for lifetime membership even if it cost them more than a normal renewal. This seems like it would be easy to do with a custom $ value on the new website. Brenan thought for discussion $960 for a standard lifetime at 32 years x $30. It’s probably prudent to discuss raising dues, but so far everything seems to be holding steady. Reminder we did not charge dues for the covid year, even though several people paid it anyway. On the lifetime membership, do we need to have an annual update for liability? Advantages to being a lifetime member?
6. -Programs and Volunteers – Nobody volunteered. Consensus to ask Jay, as he has generally had ideas about new or existing programs. Reminder, that a committee leader or member does not need to be a board member. In fact, we encourage help from non board members.
7. -Mail pickup/Meeting reservations – Nancy Douty Nancy picked up mail. Thank you from AW for donation. Looking for another donation. Repo motioned that Nancy pay AW $500 donation for 2024. Motion 2nd and approved. Other mail, credit card statement. Brenan has access online to view statements.
8. -WRRR Wear – Rebecca Post – What are we doing with shirts? Need T-shirts, hoodies and sun shirts ordered.
Events
1. -Tilton Trek. Need a trip leader. Log jam in crux spot last report, should we cancel, or who is taking lead? CANCELLED
2. -Misc River Ops – Randy E has straps from Bill Yeager. Will meet with Tamie to pass them off. Repo has a spool of rope to be split for pin kits. Mark has 2 duffle bags for the pin kits. Randy Rogers can make the prusiks. Repo will work with Randy on the pin kits.
3. -Green preclean last weekend in April. The parks may need our help. They are going to get back to Brenan in the next week or 2. Not confirmed as of yet. Brenan to confirm pre-clean.
4. -Green River Cleanup. The 40th annual event needs your help! We currently need several volunteers for registration and some other spots seen on www.greenrivercleanup.org. We are close to having the basic event covered. The green river cleanup committee is trying to do some special things, but we need some volunteer leaders to take things to the next level. OWA will have boaters joining. Trying to keep everything on the GreenRiverCleanup.org website. Food seems to be covered.
Old Business
1. -Status of safety class planning. Candice:
  Lance at Wildwater to teach a swift water rescue April 20-21, but Repo said we need board approval. Cost is $300/person, with WRRR covering half. Students will get a cert from Sierra Rescue International upon completion. Discussion
2. -Mic will need some help with content, web design, etc. Brenan plans to help but will need additional people. Brenan plans to keep calendar updated thru 2024 year end.
New Business
1. -Status for getting donations of prizes (VP business in the past, it seems that several board members work on it past years.) Repo donating throw bags and rope for pin kits.
2. -BOD insurance discussion, loosing BOD volunteers not having it. We have had before. Brenan notes that a small HOA in Marble mount owns property, had 28 lots and the insurance is about $900 a year. We have a 65 acre common lot and a well. Looking into getting a quote for BOD insurance to cover the board members from being sued should an accident occur during a WRRR event. Possible presentation to go over what would be covered. Randy is working on this and will update when able.
3. -Increasing dues if needed? Keep as placeholder for future discussion. It seems we are holding steady and gaining $1,500 or so each year. We have spent down some money on website and other high dollar items. Discuss for any mechanism for raising dues for success of future board.
4. -Discuss budget for approval 2024 – 2024 budget passes.

2. Introduce officers. Repo President, Brenan VP finance, Tamie Stonke VP business, Randy E River ops (Prizes, organizes camping, river operations).

Brenan makes a note that most of the prizes are paid for 2024. Camping for 2024 is paid for in 2023, but we need to pay for 2025 camping in 2024. We have the website expenditure, but with no safety classes in 2023, we still have above average funds. We expect the new website to get some extra membership money, T-shirt, etc. Brenan notes that the new member join button wasn’t working on the website for a couple months. At the Tieton, we used “renew” as a work around, but it may have been too late to capture a few new members.
