March 2021 Board Meeting Minutes

  1. Call to order: 7:11pm Nancy, Brenan, Joe, Paul R., Eric, Repo, Tammie, Randy, Karie
  2. Review minutes and approve: approved.
    1. Check previous month’s action items: Brenan wrote article for WaterLog
  3. Review agenda
  4. 140 members (141 members last month, highest ever 167 in March 2020)
  5. Standing Committee Reports
    1. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Rebecca, Brenan: no updates
    2. River Watch – Rebecca Post: interesting potential on removing dams on Snake
    3. Safety and Education – Rebecca Post/Paul: WaterLog article published, class full now with 8 on wait list, all paid, no refunds after 3/17, invoice from WetPlanet to be sent to Rebecca, some new members added because of offering.  Unable to extend course to wait list due to instructor shortage.  May need to look at ensuring members are renewed before course announcement next year.
    4. Communications – Brenan Filippini: working on publishing agenda content and timeline.  Requests for articles led to a couple articles.  Need to reach out to some others to see if they want their content to be published in WL/FB.
    5. Membership – Tammie: Tammie volunteered/voluntold for position.
    6. Programs and Volunteers – Erik Smith: no updates
    7. Mail pickup/Meeting reservations – Joe Koncikowski: statement from Chase, 1 new renewal
    8. WRRR Wear – Rebecca Post: no update
  6. Events
    1. Tilton Trek roundup (2/13/2021): low water cancelled. No trip leaders have volunteered
    2. Nisqually (4/10) trip: no clean-up or dumpsters provided, No trip leaders
    3. Flip Practice status (4/25/2021): Jim is planning on BBQ. Need to have article.  First Post-Covid official event
    4. Green River Cleanup status (5/1/2021): only thing to do is make official.  currently ready to go with KP
    5. Misc River Ops: no additons
  7. Old Business
    1. Maddie had successful exchange of treats with potential BF, still in flirtation smitten mode, he wrote her a cute note.
  8. New Business
    1. Handling agendas
      1. Come up with a plan for editing and publishing the agendas: Brenan to start handling agenda during current meeting and publish for next month.  Will work with David to ensure agendas are available earlier so Brenan can edit.
        1. Nancy requests WRRR logo added back to agenda.
        2. one request at a time, do not overload with requests of forums.

    2. Leavenworth boat launch portapotties: Calendar reminder already added.  For both pickups and removal.
    3. April board meeting location: Meet via phone and/or Karie’s
  9. Waterlog articles needed by 3/20: thank you Brenan for his article

  10. Announcements and good of the order
    1. Wilderness First Aide made easy app may be interesting for members.  Randy to spend $$ to take and write article on.
