May 2019 Board Meeting Minutes

  1. Call to order: 7:05PM conference call
    1. Officers: Nancy, Rebecca, David, Joe (7:10PM)
    2. Directors: Lance, Steve, Brenan, Karie
  2. Review minutes and approve
    1. Karie and David did not talk about communications.
    2. Repo and David did not send out a membership letter
  3. Review agenda – approved
  4. 141 members (141 members last month)
  5. Standing Committee Reports
    1. River Watch – Rebecca Post
      1. May 16 – 9am in Morton
      2. Meeting with Lewis County PUD on Cispus River
      3. Raft trip afterward
    2. Safety and Education – Rebecca Post
      1. Safety class – possible move to Sauk
      2. 11 signed up – still have 1 space
    3. Communications – Karie Burns
    4. Membership – Rebecca Post
    5. Mail pickup/Meeting reservations – Mary Koncikowski

    1. Communications Plan
      1. Communications is a committee, not just the chair
      2. Create a manual for Communications to describe all of the tasks that need to get done
      3. Ideally, Communications would deal with all articles and event postings, soliciting information from River Ops, Programs/Volunteers, and President
      4. We need to stop assuming Brian will ask for articles – we are responsible for getting them to him before the end of the month
      5. David & Karie will put together a plan
